BlindGuide Smart Stick

An assistive technology IoT stick prototype for visually impaired navigation featuring obstacle and light sensors.

Overview & Motivation

To engineer a responsive physical companion that utilizes sensors to detect hazards and alert the user immediately.

Problem Statement

Visually impaired individuals face significant navigational risks from undetected hanging or low-level physical obstacles.

Proposed Solution

Designed an assistive stick circuit housing HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensors, LDR light level indicators, and high-frequency buzzer alarms.

Results & Impact

Delivered a Proteus simulation and schematic prototype capable of sonar proximity mapping and low-light alerts.
